Solution in studio A&H DT168 +?

I started a new job at a school were they have the vision to get things working in recording studios with Dante. This is new to me. We already have the traditional soundcard AD/DA in the studio hooked up to monitors via an analog monitor station. This setup needs to stay. I have tried to aggregate devices in OSX to combine the tho interfaces but latency will be to high. So...

My idea now is to by a ESI Planet 22x to put in the control room to only use Dante virtual soundcard. This way we get lower latency with 2 mic inputs for talkback and 2 outputs to connect to the analog monitor station.

Any reactions to this? Are there other better solutions? Bare in mind this is a school with limited budget...

The problem with the design you proposed is the lack of preamp control in the stagebox. This will make it impossible to control the gains of the individual microphones.
