Setting the Phone Function for Amazon Echo

For staying in touch with friends and family who live far away, making a phone call is a convenient and inexpensive alternative. Here is how to set up the phone feature on Amazon Echo, regardless of which Amazon Echo device you have.

First, open the Alexa app on your mobile phone to complete the installation steps. Then click the speech bubble at the bottom of the screen to access the Conversations feature. If you have not registered your mobile number, you will need to do so for verification.

The application will then guide you through the installation process. Finally, you will receive an SMS with an activation code.

Enter it in the appropriate field to use the communication features of your echo.

Now you can select the Contacts icon to get an overview of available people. Note that you can only use the Alexa phone feature to call people who have the Alexa app or an Amazon Echo device.
