New Inbox, Planner, and AI features let you capture → organize → tackle your to-dos
As you go through your work day, new to-dos pop up at every turn: respond to an email message, provide feedback on a plan, share an executive update. It can become overwhelming quickly. Fret not. Trello is here to help you escape the clutter and chaos.
New features in Trello will help you:
- Capture your to-dos, wherever they arise, using powerful AI.
- Organize all your tasks in a way that reflects how you naturally think and work.
- Secure focus time on your calendar so you can get the most important items done.
Capture your to-dos. Everywhere. With AI.
Say goodbye to scattered to-dos. In the new Trello, tasks can be captured from any interaction—whether it’s a voice note to Siri, a Slack message, or an email – and added to your Trello Inbox.
Exactly how easy is it to send a to-do to your inbox? Almost too easy.
- mobile phone with arrow Mobile / on the go: “Hey Siri, add Respond to Jennifer to Trello.” Add to-dos with your voice (iOS), or type it right from the app home screen (Android and iOS).
- Slack: Got a message you need to act on later. Snap it to your inbox using the app shortcut or Slack’s “save for later” feature, or an emoji reaction.
- Gmail Email: Received an email that you don’t want to forget to respond. Simply forward it to inbox@app.trello.com.
- Jira lists: Want to see all the Jira tickets you’re working on or waiting for? Easy peasy. Add a new list to your Trello board. Click “Add from” and pull in issues from your Jira project. Use keywords, filters or JQL to refine.
Organize your to-dos, your way.
Once in your inbox, organize your tasks under simple lists: “To-do,” “Doing,” and “Done”— or select one of Trello’s 100+ board templates that better suits your needs. Trello’s visual, intuitive experience makes task management fun. Yes, fun! Drag and drop tasks into your schedule, block off time for deadlines, and mark items as “done”.
You can adapt your board to your unique workflow—add custom labels, checklists, and automation to supercharge your productivity. Trello uses AI to extract due dates, action items, and priorities from raw text.
If you want a to-do to show up on more than one board, you can now mirror a Trello card. Edit the to-do anywhere, and changes are reflected in every board it’s on.
Make the most of focus time with Trello Planner
Gathering and making sense of your to-dos is only half the battle. Blocking off time to complete your tasks is the other.
With the new Trello Planner, your tasks and schedule come together seamlessly. Connect your Google Calendar now (Microsoft Outlook Calendar is coming soon) to view your availability right alongside your tasks. Effortlessly drag and drop tasks from your Inbox or boards directly onto your calendar—to create focused time slots and meet deadlines with ease.
“When can I start using these amazing features?”
A few lucky users are already enjoying all these features as a part of the private beta program. Stay tuned for April 2025 announcements to start enjoying it across your Trello boards, and learn more details at trello.com.
Don’t let to-dos bog you down any longer. Whether it’s planning your week ahead or checking off tasks for the day, the new Trello ensures you can escape the clutter and chaos of scattered tasks to stay on top of your work.
