Do I need my own switch / VLAN for Dante?

Is it possible to operate a dant network in a normal data network? Does Dante need its own VLAN or can it be operated together with other network products (infrastructure, smartphones, etc.)?

Top answer

A Dante network can be operated parallel to a normal data network on a switch, but is not necessarily recommended for larger networks because there is an unnecessary exchange of information between the Dante devices and other network devices.

So for smaller networks no problem with larger, V-lan or own switches use.
