In total there are four different pieces of software offered by Audinate.
Dante Controller is used to route audio and configure devices on a Dante network. This software is free of charge and is required to initially set up the network.
Dante Virtual Soundcard allows a PC or Mac to be turned into a Dante-powered workstation. Using the Virtual Soundcard audio can recorded, processed and also be played out of the device into the network. A total number of 64 bidirectional channels is possible. This software requires a license to be bought.
Dante Via allows devices connected to a computer to feed audio into a Dante network. A total number of 48 bidirectional channels can be set up. This software also requires a license to be bought.
Dante Domain Manager is a network management software required when implementing a Dante network into a existing network infrastructure. It gives access to administrative features. This software also requires a license.
