Basically the pictures are also available in color.

The main purpose of the images at trenpex, is the automatic recognition of various vehicle features: Among other things, the identification of the vehicles using the UIC, or the recognition of the dangerous goods marking. Monochrome images (black and white) are better suited for identification.

A monochrome image also allows infrared illumination. A "white" illumination required for colour photography is often not desired and in many cases not permitted for various reasons. Therefore the standard recording is monochrome.

However, it is also possible to use colour cameras at the customer's request.
