The weighing devices are controlled and operated by a weighing process entity, supporting CANopen manager capabilities for configuring, controlling, and monitoring other CANopen devices.

Version 2.0.0 of the CiA 461 series introduces new functional safety features, mapped into two Classical CAN data frames that contain bit-wise inverted information using different CAN-IDs.

Weighing systems that are compliant with this CANopen profile are intended for industrial applications that include truck scales and weighbridges.
