Feature Name:A new Cisco Catalyst IE3100 Rugged Series Switch model became available with this release.Description:

  • New switch in Cisco Catalyst IE3100 Rugged Series Switch is available beginning in this release. New switch has 4x 1000BASE-X SFP uplink ports and 8x 1000BASE-T RJ-4 downlink ports.

Feature Name:Cisco IOx supportDescription:

  • Beginning in this release, Cisco IE3300 base sytem switches with 1 Gig uplinks support the Cisco IOx application environment. The environment combines Cisco IOS and the Linux OS for highly secure networking. It enables you to execute IoT applications with secure connectivity with Cisco IOS software, and get powerful services for rapid, reliable integration with IoT sensors and the cloud.

Feature Name:DLR SupportDescription:

  • Device Level Ring (DLR) is a Layer 2 protocol that enables redundancy in a ring topology, providing fast network fault detection and reconfiguration for industrial networks.
  • A DLR network includes at least one node configured to be a ring supervisor, and any number of normal ring nodes. All DLR ring nodes must have at least two Ethernet ports and incorporate embedded switch technology.
  • DLR is an EtherNet/IP™ protocol that is defined by the Open DeviceNet® Vendors’ Association (ODVA).

  • SFP-10G-SR-I SFP support for IE-3300-8U2X and IE-3300-8T2X

Feature Name:MRP SupportDescription:

  • Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP) provides fast convergence in a ring network topology for industrial automation networks. It is defined in International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard 62439-2.
    MRP can be used with the PROFINET standard. When in PROFINET MRP mode—the default—the switch is added and managed by Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Framework.
  • The feature also can be used in MRP Command-line interface (CLI) mode. This mode is managed by the Cisco IOS XE CLI and WebUI.
