Update

Macros, UI extensions, and web views on Room Navigator

Improvements

User-based PIN lock

  • We have changed the PIN to be user-based instead of being tied to a device. This lets you use the same PIN across all your devices. You can use the same PIN to lock a shared device you are using for hot-desking.
  • If you forget your PIN or need to reset it, you can do so through User Hub. You can also change the PIN directly from one of your devices.
  • Once the user-based PIN lock is activated, existing device-based PINs will be migrated to user-based PINs.

Macros, UI extensions, and web views on Room Navigator

  • We've added support for macros, UI extensions, and web views on Room Navigator panels outside the room. This gives you the same programmability and extensibility that was previously only available inside the room.
  • Also, we have added support for a location URL which launches the map for the given workspace if configured in Control Hub.
  • Supported on both paired and standalone Room Navigators.

Dynamic transitions for speaker and group camera mode

  • In speaker mode, the camera will automatically adjust close-ups to follow slight movements of the person speaking. In group mode, the view will dynamically adapt to subtle changes in the scene, ensuring optimal framing for all participants.

Updates to live annotation

  • Participants can annotate live even on presentations that are shared from RoomOS devices without a touch screen.

Active stylus support with third-party touch screens

  • Enhance your collaboration experience with active stylus support on third-party touch screens. Users can now draw, pan, and interact seamlessly with the whiteboard using active styluses.

Changes in Microsoft Exchange Online affecting “Send to email”

  • Microsoft has announced they will disable Basic Auth for SMTP with Exchange online in September 2025. This is how Cisco devices authenticate with SMTP servers to send whiteboards as PDFs by email. From this date, “send to email” will no longer be compatible with Microsoft 365 Exchange online.
