Google Announced Simple Nest Hub Features
Google announced that Google Assistant-enabled smart displays like the flagship Nest Hub Max will soon be able to access AMP (Accelerated Mobile Page) web articles. AMPs are versions of news articles that load faster on mobile which means that users will be able to read full AMP articles instead of watching or listening specifically made clips. In Google’s words, the update aims to “bring the depth of great web content”. As of the moment, when you search for something like a recipe on your device, the ones that have a “cook” under it are optimized for your smart display which when selected it’ll display a list of ingredients with step-by-step cooking instructions. Some websites still don’t resize properly so the stripped back AMP articles should address it. Notable upgrades like “Home Storage” which allows shared smart displays to store interactions from each user and “Continuous Match Mode” that allows you to have a continuous dialogue with your Google Assistant were also mentioned.
