Use Nano Banana to edit images in Google Slides and Vids

What’s changing

We’re upgrading Slides and Vids to the latest image editing model, Nano Banana. As recently detailed in this blog post, Nano Banana brings improved quality to image editing to make it easier to bring your ideas to life.

Additionally, we are launching an option for users to edit images using custom prompts. For example, you could ask Gemini to “Place this product in a New York subway station,” and then add it to your slide or video.

Getting started
Admins: This feature will be available by default for all eligible users. The features are available to users 18 years of age or older.
End users: This feature will be available by default. To use it, select any image in the Slides or Vids file > Edit image > type a custom prompt > Create. You can then preview the generated output by clicking it, and select Replace with image or Insert to add the image to the current slide. Use our Help Center to learn how to edit images with Gemini in Google Slides & Vids.

Rollout pace
Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains: Full rollout (1–3 days for feature visibility) starting on September 25, 2025.
