🛠️ Changes and Default Updates

  • Boot Logical Volume: Minimum capacity of the boot logical volume (hd5) remains 40 MB.
  • Disk Drivers: The AIX_FCPARRAY driver is no longer supported. Users must convert FCP array disks to the AIX_AAPCM (MPIO-supporting) driver before migrating to AIX 7.3.4.
  • File Extension: The default file name extension for pax files compressed by the snap command is changed from .Z to .gz (snap.pax.gz).
  • OpenSSH: OpenSSH client and server are installed by default. Several older bos.net.tcp filesets (e.g., ftp, telnet) are no longer installed by default.
  • Cloud Images: Cloud-ready images in qcow2 format are no longer available; only RAW format is provided.
