Report button in waiting rooms
New or enhanced feature
General features
Zoom for Cisco Rooms
- Zoom for Cisco Rooms is accessible on Cisco collaboration devices for Guest Mode and Sign-in Mode. Meeting participants can join meetings and share content seamlessly, as well as control various layouts like gallery view and multi-speaker view. Upgrade of the Cisco RoomOS to install Zoom for Cisco Rooms will be needed to access Zoom services.
Simplified method for connecting mobile or desktop devices to Zoom Rooms
- Users can connect their mobile or desktop devices to Zoom Rooms through a streamlined workflow. The enhanced process consolidates connection actions into a unified flow with clear guidance and feedback throughout each stage.
Report button in waiting rooms
- Participants can flag inappropriate content or behavior while waiting to join a meeting.
Proximity auto join for connecting devices to Zoom Rooms
- The feature uses proximity-based wireless technologies including Bluetooth, ultrasonic signals, and Wi-Fi to detect available Zoom Rooms in the vicinity to enable users to connect to meetings directly from their Zoom Workplace desktop app. Once detected, Zoom Rooms can join the scheduled or ongoing meeting with a simple tap by the user. Account owners and admins can configure which wireless technologies are enabled based on organizational security policies and environmental needs.
Office hours and blackout periods for workspace reservations
- Admins can set specific office hours that determine when spaces are available for booking and create blackout periods to block reservations during closures or special events. Admins can schedule these restrictions in advance, such as closing entire floors for company events or buildings during construction periods. When booking restrictions are active, the scheduling display shows an "Unavailable" status to inform users that reservations cannot be made.
Meeting survivability support
- When Survivability mode is enabled by admins, it supports ongoing meetings continuity even if Zoom cloud connectivity is temporarily unavailable. During disruption scenarios, users can continue to participate in meetings with core capabilities such as audio and video, content viewing and sharing, participant view, chat, reactions, and basic host controls.
Manual focus mode default for kiosk cameras
- Kiosk cameras will default to manual focus mode instead of auto focus or group focus. This minimizes unintended focus shifts when people walk by or when lighting changes, which could cause blurry images. Manual focus improves stable camera performance during visitor check-in, particularly when scanning QR codes.
Joining meetings with matching personal link names
- Users can join personal meeting rooms using personal link names even when multiple users share the same link name. When conflicts occur, Zoom Rooms will display options based on account relationships. If the personal link name exists within the same account, users can quickly join that meeting or choose to specify a different one. When no same-account match exists, users can enter the full meeting URL or meeting ID number to join the correct meeting.
Enhanced voice commands
- Users can control Zoom Rooms using improved voice commands. The enhancement supports the new "Hey Zoomie" wake word alongside existing/additional voice commands for meeting controls, audio settings, camera controls, and content sharing. The system provides visual and audible confirmation when commands are successfully executed.
Note: OS 10.15 is required for rooms with Mac devices. Appliances that are not supported include: Neat Bar, Neat Board, Poly G7500, Poly Studio X30, Poly Studio X50, Poly Studio X70, Yealink A20, Yealink A30.
Clearer Prompts for HDMI Content Sharing
- Improvements to instructions shown for both local presentation and in-meeting sharing, such as the persistent display of the "Use HDMI" instruction and the customized HDMI name. Instructions adapt based on the presence of the HDMI cable, the input source, and whether a capture card is connected or if the feature is not supported on the specific appliance.
Authentication terminology update
- References to "Two-Factor Authentication" have been changed to "Two-Step Verification."
Apple TV app name standardization
- The Zoom app icon on Apple TV will display as "Zoom" to match the naming convention used across other Zoom apps and platforms. This update removes the previous "Zoom for Home TV" label.
In-meeting features
Support Real time meeting stream for developers
- Developers can access structured meeting content through Real Time Meeting Stream (RTMS) APIs without deploying meeting bots
Slide control for webinar panelists in backstage mode
- Zoom Rooms panelists can receive slide control while in backstage mode in Zoom Rooms. The presenter can grant or revoke slide control privileges for panelists preparing behind the scenes. Panelists with control can navigate presentation slides, with changes synchronized to the live deck preview without affecting the audience view.
Show participants list on touch screen display
- Users can toggle a new option on the touch screen interface to show the participant list on the room's display. The participant list appears in a right-side panel, similar to the chat or transcript panel. When enabled, in-room meeting attendees can view the complete list of participants directly on the room display rather than having to reference the controller.
Meeting type analytics for vendor partners
- Vendor partners can capture selected analytics data about the meeting types that their hardware devices are attending.
Improvements to home screen during Pexip calls
- Zoom Rooms users will no longer see the keypad wording on the home screen during Pexip Cloud Video Interop (CVI) calls. The keypad wording is automatically hidden since it is not required for Pexip call functionality.
Explicit consent requirement for AI Companion (AIC) recordings
- Admins can ensure that meeting attendees provide explicit consent to have their audio or video recorded in-meeting for use by AIC. If an attendee does not consent, the they will not be able to unmute or turn on their camera.
Note: This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
Enhance the active speaker detection for Smart Gallery
- Active speaker detection uses video motion and audio activity to provide more accurate speaker attribution during meetings.
Admin features
Zoom Room alert for camera issues
- Account owners and admins can monitor camera health across their Zoom Rooms deployment through automated email notifications and dashboard alerts. When cameras fail to perform in a Zoom Room meeting, the system can be configured to send an immediate notification to designated admins.
Zoom Phone Access in Zoom Rooms
- Allows account owners and admins to enable or disable the Zoom Phone calling function directly on designated Zoom Rooms-enabled devices.
Windows audio enhancement control
- Users can toggle Windows system audio enhancements on or off directly from Zoom Rooms advanced audio settings. Disabling this setting can help addresses common audio interference issues that occur when Windows audio enhancements conflict with Zoom Rooms audio profiles during meetings.
Stethoscope device list enhancements
- Improved microphone list settings on the Zoom Room for Touch (ZRT), Zoom Rooms Controller (ZRC), and web portal interfaces to enable stethoscope devices to appear with clear visual identification to distinguish them from standard microphones. The system provides automatic switching behavior that activates stethoscope features when users select the stethoscope device and deactivates them when switching to regular microphones.
Real-Time Messaging Protocol ingest support for webinars
- Account owners and admins can utilize Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) ingest functionality with webinars.
Multiple user assignment support for hot desks
- Admins can assign multiple users to a single desk. On hot desks, the system will display the assigned user information. Assigned users see their shared desk reflected in their interface.
Multi-Day and flexible time scheduling for Digital Signage content lists
- Admins can schedule Digital Signage content lists across multiple days with flexible start and end times. The enhanced scheduling system allows content to span from one day to another, such as scheduling content from 3:00 PM on one day until 3:00 PM the following day. Users can select any end time in 15-minute increments throughout the day, with independent start and end date selection.
Feature configuration tab in Zoom Rooms dashboard
- Admins can view Smart Name Tags (SNT) enablement statistics filtered by Location and Tags on the Zoom Rooms dashboard, under the feature configuration tab. This tab also provides data about seating capacity.
Enhancements to high-fidelity music mode
- Users can enable high-fidelity music mode to temporarily disable noise suppression and better preserve the full range of sound from musical instruments or other non-speech audio. Zoom Rooms now disables its own noise suppression when this mode is enabled. Additionally, Zoom Rooms detects if the device hardware supports music mode optimizations and enables them while using high-fidelity music mode. Admins can now choose to have high-fidelity music mode enabled by default when meetings start.
Editing restrictions for smart name tags for voice
- Admins can restrict meeting hosts and participants from editing a smart name tag for voice during a meeting.
Custom Dante device naming
- Admins can customize device names created by Dante on the Zoom web portal. The default name will be: "ZoomRooms-[room name]." Once customized, the admin will be prompted to reconfigure the Dante device connection for the room to apply the change.
Contextual guidance for QR code and room code
- Admins can enable and customize contextual guidance messages that appear when users are prompted to scan QR codes or enter room codes (formerly sharing keys) in Zoom Rooms.
Automatic crash recovery for Zoom Rooms upgrades
- Zoom Rooms can automatically detect when an application crashes repeatedly after an upgrade, and initiate a rollback to the previous stable version. The system monitors for three consecutive startup failures following an upgrade, then reinstalls the last known working version without requiring manual intervention. Once rollback completes, the attempted upgrade is automatically canceled on the web portal to prevent reinstallation. Admins will receive email notifications and dashboard alerts detailing the crash event, attempted version, and restored version.
Additional configuration options for AI Companion consent
- Account owners and admins can configure custom AI Companion (AIC) explicit consent notices for meeting hosts, co-hosts, and alternative hosts. Admins can enable a "Ask Host to stop AI" option within the custom consent modal, allowing participants to request that AIC be disabled for the meeting. Users cannot interact with AIC features, unmute audio, or enable video until they provide explicit consent through the custom notice modal.
Note: This setting is off by default.
Account-wide contact presence disabling
- Account owners and admins can disable presence information across all Zoom Rooms in their organization. This setting applies to all room types, including Zoom Rooms Controllers and Scheduling Displays. When enabled, presence indicators and availability status will not be displayed on any Zoom Rooms interfaces throughout the account.
Controller features
Dante volume adjustment support
- Users can control volume settings for Dante network-connected audio devices directly through the Zoom Rooms Controller.
Configurable meeting display limits
- Admins can configure Zoom Rooms scheduling displays to show only the current meeting, next meeting, or a specified number of upcoming meetings. This setting can be applied independently to both in-room controller touchpanels and scheduling panels. The display automatically updates when meetings start, end, or are canceled.
