Logitech Announces Swytch, A Cable Solution to Join Any Meeting/Room

On August 4, 2020 Logitech introduced Swytch, a cable solution that allows users to conduct meetings on any conference platform, webinar or streaming software from their laptop. It is a combination of HDMI and USB for screen projection from laptop to display in the room, supporting 4K resolution and high quality audio.

Users will be able to connect to all conference equipment (display, camera, speakers, microphones) via a USB-C or USB connection. Thanks to Displaylink technology, the HDMI signal is transmitted via the USB connection - similar to a USB docking station. What makes Swytch special is that the user can spontaneously choose between USB-C or USB (depending on what is plugged in). Previously, docking stations had to be set to one of the standards.

This single-cable laptop connection is designed to provide a truly unified conferencing experience while making it easier for IT and AV professionals to add more platforms to the room/session.

The price is 999 US dollars, but varies according to the region. It will be available for purchase worldwide later this month.
