Public Preview: User delegation SAS for Azure Tables, Azure Files, and Azure Queues
User delegation SAS for Azure Tables, Azure Files, and Azure Queues is now available in public preview. User delegation (UDK) SAS is already generally available for blobs, and this release extends that support to tables, files, and queues.

User delegation SAS allows users to create a more secure SAS token than account or service SAS by tying the SAS token to the delegator. This extension of UDK SAS will allow users to set SAS tokens at the table, table entity, queue, queue entity, file container, and individual file level. Any SAS token set at the higher level will provide access to all table/queue/file entities within, and any SAS token set at the base level will only provide access to that individual entity.

There is no additional cost to use user delegation SAS. Pricing is based on the standard read/write transaction costs for your storage account type. To learn more, please see Azure Storage Pricing.

Generally Available: Ubuntu 24.04 support in AKS

Ubuntu 24.04 is now generally available on AKS in Kubernetes version 1.32 and above. Containerd 2.0 is enabled by default. Ubuntu 24.04 is default with Ubuntu OS Sku in kubernetes version 1.35 and above.

There are two ways that Ubuntu 24.04 can be enabled.

In Kubernetes version 1.32 and above, you can use the ‘Ubuntu2404’ OS Sku. This OS Sku can help you migrate existing clusters before you reach the minimum kubernetes version for Ubuntu 24.04 as default on AKS.

In Kubernetes version 1.35 and above, you can use ‘Ubuntu’ OS Sku which defaults to Ubuntu 24.04. If you are already using Ubuntu OS Sku and upgrade to kubernetes version 1.35 or above, you’ll automatically migrate to Ubuntu 24.04.

While migrating to Ubuntu 24.04, you can rollback to Ubuntu 22.04 by using the new OS SKU “Ubuntu2204” in Kubernetes versions 1.25 to 1.36. This functionality allows for more flexibility in testing and upgrading your OS versions without requiring a Kubernetes version upgrade.
