Unlock Client-Side Configuration at Scale with Azure App Configuration and Azure Front Door

Public Preview: Unlock Client-Side Configuration at Scale with Azure App Configuration and Azure Front Door

You can now deliver dynamic configuration directly to client-side applications—securely and at CDN scale—thanks to Azure App Configuration’s integration with Azure Front Door. This delivers new flexibility for modern apps and unlocks a critical capability for AI-powered and agentic client applications.
This means you can now power modern client experiences across:

  • - - Single Page Applications (React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, and others using JavaScript)
  • Mobile/ and desktop applications with .Net MAUI
  • JavaScript-powered UI components or embedded widgets running in browser
  • Any browser-based application that can run JavaScript

Key Benefits:

  • Instant updates without redeploying: Change feature flags and settings centrally; updates flow to browsers and mobile apps in real time.
  • CDN-accelerated delivery: Azure Front Door ensures low-latency configuration fetches for thousands or millions of clients globally.
  • Secure by design: No secrets shipped to clients; only scoped configuration values exposed via managed identity.
Simplified architecture: Avoid custom proxy layers—use a built-in, scalable solution.

Generally Available: Azure Data Box enhances compliance with automatic Secure Erasure Certificates
Azure Data Box now automatically generates a downloadable Secure Erasure Certificate for every completed order, providing verification that all data on the device has been securely erased in accordance with NIST 800-88 Revision 2 standards.

The certificate is created as part of the standard cleanup process and is accessible directly from the Azure portal. This enhancement reduces audit complexity and eliminates the need for manual validation, while increasing transparency and simplifying compliance for organizations handling sensitive data, such as: government, law enforcement, and financial services.

Generally Available: Azure Data Box now supports Azure Files Provisioned v2
Azure Data Box now supports ingestion of data into Azure Files Provisioned v2 storage accounts. Azure Files Provisioned v2 is a billing model where customers provision and pay for specific capacity, IOPS, and throughput values; giving greater flexibility and cost control for file share workloads.

With this update, customers can now use Azure Data Box to transfer data directly into Azure Files Provisioned v2 storage accounts across most public regions.
