Microsoft Edge: v.136 - Elevating top settings and improving settings page navigability

Roll out start May 2025

  • To make finding browser settings more efficient, Microsoft Edge is introducing three navigation improvements to Edge Settings. We are making no changes to the functionality of any setting and all settings will remain on the same page as they are today but will be behind clickable sections. The first is introducing quick access to the most used actions on the landing page of Edge Settings. Second, each densely populated page—Privacy, search, and services; Appearance; Cookies and site permissions; System and performance—will feature quick access to its most used actions. Third, for these same pages, each section will now click-through to its respective sub-settings (similar to a table of contents).

Microsoft Edge: v.136 - Authorized Group Setting in Microsoft Edge for Business
Roll out start April 2025

  • The authorized group setting ensures that Edge respects the settings for "Printer groups," "Removable USB device groups," and "Network share groups" in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. This change will prevent users from bypassing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) protections by using Edge, thereby enhancing security and compliance.

Microsoft Edge: v.136 - Feature Usage Data Sync
Roll out start April 2025

  • Edge Sync, which enables users to synchronize their Edge user data across multiple devices, is now launching a new sync data category called Feature Usage. This new category will allow users to synchronize data regarding their utilization of Edge features across all their devices.
