Connectivity Product Update: New Features and Resolved Issues
New Features:
- Motion Axis Output Cam (MAOC) instruction supports additional devices for scheduling, with up to 16 scheduled outputs.
- Event Task Integration allows embedded input-point terminals to trigger an Event task on change of state (COS).
- Extended Properties can now define additional information about tags or their structures.
- Logix Designer application (version 21 or later) enables specifying Engineering Units and Min/Max Values for numeric tags, as well as state information for Boolean tags.
Enhancements:
- Nothing known
Fixed Bugs:
- The Logix controller owns the configuration in the drive when using the Automatic Device Configuration (ADC) feature.
- Nonrecoverable fault may occur if the controller, using an RSLogix 5000 project, is power cycled while having high memory usage.
- Communication loss occurs with the remote SLC chassis during the second project download when using a 1747-AENTR SLCâ„¢ 500 EtherNet/IP Adapter with more than five modules.
- Changes to Buffer Timeout value for FactoryTalk Alarms and Events do not take effect until the existing buffer is deleted.
Open Issues:
- Rare instances of Motion Axis Move (MAM) instruction overshooting its programmed endpoint if merged during deceleration.
- Executing Motion Group Shutdown Reset (MGSR) while Motion Group Shutdown (MGSD) is still executing may result in motion error #7.
- An Excessive Velocity Error (Drive Error S55) occurs when one axis is disabled in a coordinated move with multiple axes on the EtherNet/IP network.
- Position Trim value is added unexpectedly to the axis position on each cycle of Motion Servo Off (MSF) and Motion Servo On (MSO) instructions.
- New Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP network axes defaults Mechanical Brake Delay to 0, causing improper motor operation unless adjusted.
