- With firmware version 2.7.0.0, Stem Ecosystem has introduced link-local IP addressing for all Stem devices with the exception of the Stem controller. To enable your Stem devices to assign themselves an IP address, first make sure that all your devices are up to date with the latest firmware. After updating, restart all your devices once again. After the restart, the Stem devices will assign a link-local IP address as long as they do not recognize a DHCP server in the local network.
- To find out which IP addresses your Stem devices have assigned themselves, you can try 3 different options:
- open Stem Upgrader 2.0 on a computer connected to the same local network as your Stem devices to view the detected Stem devices and their respective IP address.
- IP scan software.
- if you have either a Stem Table or a Stem Wall in your room, you can press and hold both volume buttons, the upper and the lower one, simultaneously for about 6 seconds. The device will then read out its own IP address.
