Safety applications IO-Link modules release

Important notes

The ET200AL IO-Link I/O modules are approved for use in safety applications up to SILCL2 or Cat 3/PL d.

The IO-Link I/O modules of the ET200AL are not performing any safety functions, so the safety-oriented tripping of the digital outputs is performed via the shutdown of the load current supply by the higher-level safety relay.

With the DIQ modules, the digital channels are shutting down by switching off the additional power supply of the IO-Link Port Class B, and in the DQ module by switching off the additional power supply of the M12-L power connector.

In the event of safety-oriented tripping, communication with the IO-Link master remains in place, so that a shutdown can be reported as a diagnostic event.
