New architecture improving performance, reducing footprint and simplifying user customization

MindConnect Library 4.4

MindConnect LIB creates secure connectivity from an onsite device to Industrial IoT. Firewall-friendly communication via a REST API and unique onboarding security tokens authenticate MindConnect during onboarding to ensure data is safely transmitted to cloud based Industrial IoT MindConnect LIB provides an application example that enables programming of customer or use case specific connectivity agents by interacting with southbound APIs. These APIs facilitate data transmission from assets, securely and efficiently. By connecting, customers can maximize the value of their machine data through cloud-based applications and services, providing actionable business insights.

The MindConnect Library v4 is the successor of MindConnect Library v3 with a new architecture improving performance, reducing footprint and simplifying user customization. We highly recommend switching to the new version of the library. MindConnect Library (MCL) v4, replaces MCL v3 fully. The support for MCL v3 has come to an end. When deemed necessary, refer to the migration guide included in the (code) documentation. It can be found under the link mentioned at the end of this page.

The architecture of MindConnect Library has changed due to the plans to extend it with independent set of features. With MCL v4, the library is now designed as a core component and extensions to the core component. All functionality of MCL v3 is delivered with the connectivity component together with the core component in MCL v4. Additionally, data point mapping feature is included in connectivity component and agents can now also upload unstructured data to Integrated data lake with data lake component.
