Firmware download for SCALANCE W700 IEEE 802.11n V6.7.0
New functions:
- Security > WLAN>Client RADIUS Supplicant – Legacy server support: The TLS renegotiation mechanisms according to RFC 5746 can be disabled to enable continued use of RADIUS servers with outdated TLS renegotiation mechanisms.
Changes/bug fixes:
- This firmware version includes security fixes and improvements designed to enhance robustness. Upgrading to this firmware version is recommended.
- The wireless approval list in the firmware has been updated. For more detailed information about the approval status for device variants, see: www.siemens.com/wireless-approvals
- WLAN – Country code: Sporadically incorrect display of the country selection list in the WBM has been fixed.
- Access point – WLAN: The transmission mechanisms of the IEEE 802.11 management frames and 4-way handshake (via EAPoL) have been optimized.
- WLAN – RADIUS authentication: EAP-TLS authentication has been optimized.
- Access point – WLAN: Sporadic error when clients log in after roaming has been fixed.
- Client – WLAN – iPCF: Sporadic occurrence of multiple association timeouts during roaming has been rectified.
- SNMP: Update failure when requesting data records from dynamic lists, such as the WLAN authentication log via SNMP GETNEXT or GETBULK request has been fixed.
- Load & Save – Country List: CountryList (zip file) now only contains the country list as a csv file. The pdf file is no longer included.
Notes:
- iPCF: To make optimum use of the iPCF , it is recommended that the iPCF or iPCF-HT only be operated using the IEEE 802.11a transmission method. For devices with two WLAN interfaces, it is also advisable to configure the iPCF only on the first WLAN interface (WLAN 1).
- There may be sporadic occurrences of individual sample values being erroneously output in the signal recorder with -55 dBm of noise floor.
- HTTPS certificate: You are recommended to use password-protected certificates in PKCS#12 format with an ECC algorithm to enable optimally secure and powerful access to the WBM of the device.
- For real-time communication, the access points with two interfaces (SCALANCE W788-2 and SCALANCE W786-2) enable the use of a management channel at the iPCF-MC. When using the iPCF , it is not recommended to use the second interface independently of the iPCF .
- Configuration via SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional V16 (TIA Portal): Configuration of the 'Service Information' event is currently not possible.
- iPRP: Undesired side effects can occur when using iPRP in combination with an A-MPDU. Therefore, it is not recommended to use both functions at the same time.
- After the update, channels with the current configuration may no longer be available due to existing approval restrictions (F-LED lights up). The antenna settings (antenna gain) then need to be checked.
- You can find a list of the currently available country approvals in the list of wireless approvals at: www.siemens.com/wireless-approvals
- With SINEC PNI Basic, devices can be assigned an IP address in the factory state (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/ps/26672/dl)
- The SCALANCE W700 Wi-Fi 4 product is no longer shipped with a product DVD (SCALANCE W Manual Collection).
