iPCF: General stability improvements
SCALANCE W700 IEEE 802.11n V6.5.6 firmware
Changes/bug fixes:
- WLAN – Access point – Force roaming and iPCF/iPCF-MC: Sporadic error when establishing a connection after "Force roaming – if a destination address is not reached" fixed
- iPCF: General stability improvements.
- NAT/NAPT: Restarting a client with NAT/NAPT configuration could cause communication via NAT/NAPT to fail. This has been corrected.
- DHCP client Error fixed which occurred when obtaining an IP address via certain DHCP servers.
- Login process for clients with WLAN security after roaming optimized
Known errors:
- Load & Save: When updating the web interface from version 06.05.00 to a higher version (e.g. V06.05.06), the progress bar displays "File load operation failed"
- When downgrading to V06.04.00/V06.04.01, no reset to factory settings is performed
Config version: 06.05
Notes:
- iPCF: To make optimum use of iPCF , it is recommended that iPCF or iPCF-HT only be operated using the IEEE 802.11a transmission method. For devices with two WLAN interfaces, it is also advisable to configure iPCF only on the first WLAN interface (WLAN 1).
- There may be sporadic occurrences of individual sample values being erroneously output in the signal recorder with -55 dBm of noise floor.
- For real-time communication, the access points with two interfaces (SCALANCE W788-2 and SCALANCE W786-2) enable the use of a management channel at iPCF-MC. When using iPCF , it is not recommended to use the second interface independently of iPCF .
- Configuration via SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional V16 (TIA Portal): It is currently not possible to configure the 'Service Information' event.
- iPRP: When using iPRP in combination with A-MPDU, there may be undesirableside effects. Therefore, it is not recommended to use both functions at the same time.
- The IEEE 802.11b transmission method is not supported together with iPCF , i.e. the SCALANCE W700-xRR devices must not be configured with IEEE 802.11b mode in mixed operation.
- After the update, it is possible that no more channels are available with the current configuration (F-LED lights up) due to restrictions on existing approvals. Here , the antenna gain settings must be checked.
- The currently available country approvals can be found in the list of radio approvals under www.siemens.com/wireless-approvals
- With SINEC PNI Basic, an IP address can be assigned to devices in the factory state (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/ps/26672/dl)
Security note:
We recommend that you update the firmware. With the release of the latest version, all previous versions are to be regarded as end of life and therefore neither supported nor maintained thereafter. Please check regularly for possible updates and update to the latest version as soon as possible.
