The product discontinuation and phase-out of the Siemens SIMATIC IOT2040 starts since 01.03.2022

Successor

As the successor of IOT2040, the Siemens IOT2050 will be introduced:

• Size and interfaces are very similar, also ARDUINO Shields, mPCIe cards
• Example Image (based on Debian 10) with comparable content e.g. Node JS, Node-Red)
• Differences:
• based on the ARM processor, so all compiled software (z. B. C/C++) has to be recompiled at least
• not 100% installation compatible
• much more CPU power (at least factor 10)
