Portfolio enhancement with CPU 1508S T/TF
Extension of the SIMATIC S7-1500 Software Controller portfolio by the SIMATIC technology CPUs 1508S T/TF for high-end motion control applications.

The SIMATIC 1508S T/TF CPUs are aimed at customers who are exceeding the limits of their motion control applications with the current SIMATIC controller portfolio. In particular, the expanded quantity structure of Motion Control Resources and the high performance of the powerful IPC hardware are supporting high-end motion control applications.

To allow an optimized real-time behavior of the CPU, we have taken measures to limit the impact of Windows operating system and its corresponding Windows applications. In consequence, the available Windows operating system and its applications can be utilized next to high-end Motion Control use cases but are limited in its performance.

Therefore, usage of Windows applications up to medium performance can be considered but need to be validated on the individual use case requirements (e.g. user interaction performance).
