What's new in SIMOCODE ES V18

The following new features are available in SIMOCODE ES in the TIA Portal

• Compare Editor for offline/offline comparison
  With the help of the Compare Editor of the TIA Portal, the parameterizations of two configured SIMOCODE pro devices can be compared in the offline project.
• *.aml file export
  SIMOCODE ES supports the CAx export (*.aml file format) in TIA Portal for the device parameters.
• Test function in the function plans
  In the function plans, the signal states of inputs can be set when the function test "cold run" is active, and thus the device function can be tested.
• Text fields for logic functions
  In the parameter editor, text fields for notes are now available for the logic functions (truth tables, signal matching and calculators), which are also taken into account when printing.
• Default connection path for fast mass download
  In the TIA settings under Online & Diagnostics, the default connection path for all devices in the project can be set. A fast mass download or online mode is achieved.
• Designation SIMOCODE pro V PROFIBUS devices
  SIMOCODE pro V PROFIBUS devices are now named SIMOCODE pro V PB analog to the device labeling.
• General improvements of tooltips and labeling
• Editorial improvements in the help system of SIMOCODE ES.
• Stability when working with TIA Portal has been improved based on feedback from crash reports returned, among other things.

Two program variants

• The user can choose between the free SIMOCODE ES Basic version and the SIMOCODE ES Professional version, which was introduced with Version 16.

• SIMOCODE ES Professional, with its extended range of functions and integrated graphics editor, is the perfect tool for engineers or project planners. SIMOCODE ES Professional also supports parameterization and diagnostics via PROFIBUS/PROFINET. The display of all operating, service and diagnostic data provides meaningful information about the current status of the motor and the system at any time - anywhere on PROFIBUS or PROFINET.

Delivery and license forms

SIMOCODE ES V18 is available in the following delivery form:

• Floating License - license per user unlocks any user, regardless of the number of installations (unlike Single License, which may be installed only once) only actual program usage is to be licensed
• Combo License - parallel use license allows parallel use of SIMOCODE ES V18 version as well as version 2007
• Trial License (21 days free use of all program functions, for test and evaluation purposes, included on each product DVD, included in the SIRIUS ES program download file in the Service & Support portal).

In addition, the following delivery variants are available:

**Upgrade

• Upgrade of an old version to a new, functionally enhanced version, e.g. upgrade from SIMOCODE ES 2007 Standard / Premium to SIMOCODE ES V18,
  Software Update Service
• To ensure that you are always up to date, we offer a special service that automatically provides you with all service packs and upgrades for SIMOCODE ES (TIA Portal).
  License/software download (for selected countries)
• Simply download your new software as well as license keys from the Internet via the Online Software Delivery (OSD) platform. After ordering in our mall, you will receive your access data by e-mail, so that you can download the ordered license or software immediately. Replacement and compatibility

• SIMCOCODE ES V18 is supplied as a combo license for parallel use of SIMOCODE ES V18 and SIMOCODE ES 2007 (no longer available since October 2019).
• With version 18 of SIMOCODE ES (TIA Portal), the replacement of SIMOCODE ES V17 is planned.
• License Keys purchased for SIMOCODE ES Standard or Premium V12 to V15.1 can also be used for SIMOCODE ES V18 Professional.
• Users who already use SIMOCODE ES Standard (TIA Portal) have benefited from the higher-quality functionality of SIMOCODE ES Professional free of charge since V16.
• SIMOCODE ES V18 (TIA Portal) is compatible with software based on TIA Portal V18.
• Projects created with SIMOCODE ES V13 SP1 or later can be upgraded to SIMOCODE ES V18 projects.
• Parameter and group files created with SIMOCODE ES 2007 can be transferred using the "Migrate project" function.
• SIMOCODE ES V18 (TIA Portal) supports all components of SIMOCODE pro.
