Hey, so I want to ask that is it possible use single WP231 module to communicate with 2 Siwarex DB's via RS485, each having 4 load cells connected to them on 2 coveyors. As only 1 conveyor is active a time I don't want to add another WP231 module in hardware and want to read data by changing the address of targetted devices in my program periodically.. kindly suggest is it possible?

The Siemens WP231 module communication processor module supports the Modbus RTU communication protocol over RS485, so it can be used to communicate with up to 31 Modbus-compatible devices on the same RS485 network.
To communicate with two Siwarex DBs via RS485, you can connect the RS485 bus of the WP231 module to both Siwarex DBs in a daisy-chain configuration. The WP231 module can act as a Modbus master and can send commands to both Siwarex DBs and receive data from them.
To connect the load cells to the Siwarex DBs, you can use the appropriate wiring and calibration procedures as specified in the Siwarex DB manual. Each Siwarex DB can support up to four load cells.
You will need to configure the WP231 module to communicate with the Siwarex DBs over Modbus RTU. This can be done using the TIA Portal software or the Siemens STEP 7 software.
Once the communication is established, you can read the weight data from both Siwarex DBs and use it for your control and monitoring purposes.
Note that you may need to ensure that the RS485 network is properly terminated and the communication parameters (such as baud rate, parity, and stop bits) are set correctly to ensure reliable communication between the WP231 module and the Siwarex DBs.
