Image Freezing?

When we launch the feed in OBS we are getting a frozen image as opposed to moving video. Internet is 900 Mb/s down and up, so speed is not the issue. The ports on the laptop are USB 3.0. It is a new laptop within the last 6 months. It is a PC running Windows 10. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Check if you get a picture with the camera app.
  • Please try to reduce the resolution or frame rate. Example: 1080p60 to 720p60 or 1080p30 to 720p30.
  • Make sure you are using the latest drivers from your motherboard or notebook manufacturer for the USB 3.x controller. Other controllers usually work well with Microsoft drivers. Some USB controllers, such as Intel, do not have separate drivers. Instead, these ports use basic Microsoft drivers that cannot be reinstalled.
  • Also check your laptop's BIOS firmware, some manufacturers have bug fixes for USB ports.
  • Disable power saving options for USB (especially for laptops there are many power saving options, these can be disabled with certain commands or can be found in the power saving options).
