Companion microphone mode for Zoom Rooms

Listen to Zoom Rooms meetings from personal devices

  • By pairing the Zoom Workplace desktop app with a Zoom Room, users can join a Zoom Rooms meeting in companion mode from their personal device and receive the meeting audio. This feature is enabled only when a connected USB or Bluetooth audio device is selected as the output source from the Zoom Workplace app.
    Note: This feature is not currently supported with Logi devices for Zoom Rooms.

Admin features

Companion microphone mode for Zoom Rooms

  • Users who pair their desktop device to a Zoom Room can join the meeting in companion mode and choose to allow their device's microphone to be used to improve meeting audio performance. Admins can enable or disable this option for Zoom Rooms. When users pair and join in companion mode, the system can switch to a paired device's microphone to enhance audio. This feature is supported using the paired laptop's built-in microphone.
    Note: This feature is not currently supported with Logi devices for Zoom Rooms.
