Problem with my webcam?

Hey,

I use zoom because of studying, however when I turn on my webcam I have black stripes horizontally in the image, which just makes the image look crappy. It can't be the webcam because I don't have this problem in any other application. Does anyone know a solution to the problem?

Here are some steps you can try to solve the problem:

  1. check the settings in Zoom: in Zoom, click "Settings" and then click "Video". Make sure the frame rate and video quality are set to the highest settings.
    Disable the Low Light Compensation option: In the zoom settings under "Video" you will find the option "Low Light Compensation". Make sure this option is disabled as it sometimes distorts the image.
  2. change the lighting: make sure you have enough lighting in the room where you use the webcam. Too little light can cause the webcam to try to brighten the image, which can sometimes cause distortion.
    Check your webcam drivers: Make sure your webcam drivers are up to date. You may need to update your webcam drivers to make sure they are compatible with Zoom.
  3. Use a different webcam: If none of the above solutions work, you can try using a different webcam. Your current webcam may not be compatible with Zoom.
