Zoom audio not working with very broken voices?

I have this strange audio issue on one of my laptops. On this specific laptop, the speakerphone gives out very broken voices for zoom, even during the Zoom "testing audio". But all other softwares on this laptop will work fine such as playing YouTube, having a Google call etc. When I plug in an earphone, the Zoom voice works fine with the earphone. Anyone has any idea? Thanks for the help.

It seems like the problem is specific to the hands-free laptop and Zoom, as other apps and a headset work fine. Here are some steps you can try to solve the problem:

  1. check Zoom's audio settings: go to Settings > Audio and make sure the correct speakers/microphones are selected. It is best to use the setting with Like System (name of your device).
  2. check that the speakerphone driver is up to date: check online for updates to your laptop's audio driver and install the latest update if necessary.
  3. test your speakerphone on other platforms: Try testing your speakerphone on other platforms such as Skype or Microsoft Teams to see if the problem occurs.
  4. disable audio amplification: go to Settings > Audio > Advanced and disable the Audio Amplification option. This prevents the laptop's microphone from being too sensitive and picking up unwanted background noise.
