Improved control over private channels in Team Chat

Zoom desktop app and mobile app features (version 6.3.0)

Support for quote formatting in Zoom Team Chat

  • Users can now easily format and control the appearance of quoted text within Zoom Team Chat. The updated quote UI allows users to retain text formatting such as bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, colored text, highlighted text, hyperlinks, heading styles, bullets, indents, numbered lists, code blocks, and inline code when quoting messages. Users can also insert line breaks within quoted content using Shift+Enter , and exit quote mode by either clicking outside the quoted area or pressing Shift+2x Enter . For those who prefer Markdown, the '>' symbol can be used to start a quote. This simplified quoting process enhances the user experience and improves communication clarity.

Jump-to-draft enhancements

  • Users can now click on the draft label in the sidebar to quickly jump to their most recent draft in a conversation. This update prevents users from being automatically redirected to their draft when opening a conversation, allowing them to first view any unread messages. This enhancement provides a more intuitive and user-friendly experience when managing drafts in conversations.

Improvements to bullet and numbered list formatting

  • Users can use keyboard shortcuts to increase and decrease indent levels for bullets and numbered lists when composing messages in Team Chat. Pressing Tab increases the indent level and changes the bullet/number icon, while Shift+Tab decreases the indent level. Pressing Enter once resumes at the last indent level, and pressing Enter twice exits bullet formatting. The maximum depth is 5 indents. This improves the formatting experience and visual hierarchy for better readability.

Enhancements to the Meetings section in the Resource Tab

  • Users can now view past meetings in the Meetings section of the Resources tab in Zoom Team Chat. Previously, the Meetings section only displayed in-progress and upcoming meetings. With this update, users gain access to a complete history of meetings shared in chat, enhancing their ability to reference and revisit past meetings. This enhancement improves workflow by providing a comprehensive view of all meetings in a centralized location.

Enhancements to scheduled messages in Zoom Team Chat

  • Users can schedule messages for a more appropriate time based on their availability and time zone. For one-on-one chats, the default schedule time is set to the next working day at 9 AM in the receiver's time zone if users are in different time zones. If users are in the same time zone, the default time is set to 9 AM in the sender's time zone. For group chats and channels, the default schedule time is set to the next working day at 9 AM in the sender's time zone.

Enhancements to code formatting in Team Chat

  • Users can insert inline code within a line of text using single backticks or create a code block with triple backticks in Team Chat. They can insert and remove inline code and code blocks via the format toolbar. Code blocks start on a new line, wrap according to the message container width, and each line is numbered. Basic formatting like bold, italics, underline, and strikethrough is allowed within code blocks.
