Update for Zoom Whiteboard
New or enhanced feature
User features
Secure whiteboard with a password
- Users can protect their shared whiteboard with a password when sharing via a link. The password must have at least 8 characters, including 1 letter, 1 number, and 1 special character. Users can choose to show or hide the password they create. To access the whiteboard, recipients must enter the correct password. When copying the link, both the link and password are copied together. This feature ensures that only those with the password can access the whiteboard.
Enable private mode to encourage unbiased collaboration
- Board owners and editors can temporarily hide sticky note content for all collaborators, allowing participants to generate sticky notes and ideas independently and privately. This private mode specifically affects sticky notes and conceals collaborators' cursors and names. In this mode, users can only edit and see the content they created themselves. Once the private mode session ends, all sticky note content is revealed at once. This feature encourages individuals to share their ideas freely, without being influenced by others.
Dropbox integration with Zoom Whiteboard
- Users can connect their Dropbox account to Zoom Whiteboard, allowing them to easily search for and embed documents, images, and other content directly onto the whiteboard. Any changes made to the embedded Dropbox files are automatically synced with the original files. This integration allows users to work with their Dropbox files within Zoom Whiteboard without switching between apps.
Code block for technical users
- Technical users can add a new content type called Code block on the Zoom Whiteboard canvas. Code blocks display monospaced, syntax-highlighted text and support popular coding languages. They can specify a font size, code language, toggle line numbers, wrap code, and switch between dark/light display modes. This allows technical users to share code snippets during meetings, collaboratively write code on a whiteboard, and paste snippets from a code base or online for discussion and demonstration purposes.

Enhancements to whiteboard export and duplication controls
- Account owners and admins can restrict users from exporting, duplicating, and creating templates from whiteboards based on in-meeting and out-of-meeting settings. The Allow export of whiteboard and content option now covers duplication and template creation as well. The previous setting for exporting in PNG, PDF, and CSV formats has been updated to include the ability for users to duplicate and create templates of whiteboards. This ensures that account policies for content exporting are enforced consistently, even if users attempt to bypass restrictions.
