Update for Zoom Whiteboard
New or enhanced feature
Admin features
Document password protection
- Account owners and admins can enable mandatory password protection for all documents in their organization. When turned on, each document will have a randomly generated password. Admins can set rules for the password, such as its length and character requirements. Users can change the password but cannot disable password protection.
User features
Shape color styles
- Users can apply color styles to selected shapes and lines in a diagram. They can apply these styles to an entire flowchart or diagram, rather than individual shapes. Users can also apply color themes to shapes in the content library, allowing them to easily add pre-styled shapes to their diagrams.
Quick duplication of groups and selections
- Users can quickly duplicate grouped or multi-selected content using the new quick duplicate button. The duplicated content is placed to the left, right, above, or below the original selection with proper spacing and alignment. This feature allows grouped content to be duplicated efficiently while keeping individual elements like sticky notes and frames with their original properties.
Quick creation of sticky notes, frames, and cards
- Users can add new sticky notes, frames, and cards directly next to existing ones by clicking a plus button placed beside each object. The newly created notes, cards, and frames match the dimensions of the original object for consistency.
Import Mural to Zoom Whiteboard
- Zoom Whiteboard now supports converting exported Miro boards into editable whiteboards! Users can import and extract content from Mural boards exported to PDFs. Text, shapes, lines, connectors and other objects are editable in a Zoom Whiteboard.
Generate sequence diagrams with AI Companion
- Users can create complex sequence diagrams from a prompt by providing a detailed description of the process, or by using a concise prompt to allow AI Companion to suggest a design. Once generated, the diagrams can be fully edited through Whiteboard's drag-and-drop interface.
Enhancements to color selection
- Users can access the color picker directly without needing to click the plus button to save the color. They can also quickly access recent colors used, in addition to the saved color library. Users can still customize colors and preview them on the objects they're working on.
Dark mode support for Zoom Whiteboard
- Users can enable dark mode on the Zoom Whiteboard canvas to improve visibility and reduce eye strain in low-light environments. When dark mode is activated in desktop app settings, the Whiteboard canvas adopts the dark theme.
Corner radius adjustment
- Users can adjust the corner radius of certain shapes and images in Zoom Whiteboard. A numerical input field allows customization of the corner radius.
Allow editors to duplicate and copy locked canvas objects
- Editors with copy permission can duplicate and copy locked objects on the Zoom Whiteboard canvas; however, they cannot duplicate hidden locked objects.
Ability to bulk import and convert various board formats
- Users can bulk import exported boards from Miro, Mural, and Visio into Zoom Whiteboard. They can upload multiple documents at once in the Whiteboard dashboard, and Zoom Whiteboard will generate a whiteboard for each document. Users can quickly change the name and move imported boards to a project.
