Update for Zoom Whiteboard
New or enhanced feature
User features
Whiteboard Layer management
- Introducing layers, a powerful organizational feature that lets you group content into separate, named layers for more efficient work on complex boards. With layers, users can hide or lock groups of items, isolate specific layers, and maintain clear hierarchy in multi-step diagrams or presentations, keeping your workspace tidy and your creative process streamlined.
Upload capabilities for unsigned-in users
- Unsigned-in users can now upload images and local files to a Zoom Whiteboard during collaboration sessions.
Enhancements to image objects
- Users can now add alternative text to images to improve screen reader accessibility. In addition, users can now swap existing images on the canvas with new ones, retaining the original images position and formatting.
Empty whiteboard deletion workflow
- Users receive a prompt to save or discard whiteboards that contain no content when closing them during meetings or when returning to the dashboard. For whiteboards created during meetings, participants maintain their sharing permissions if the board is saved. The system preserves whiteboards inserted into documents or created via API calls without triggering deletion prompts. Users with disabled cloud saving will have empty whiteboards automatically removed upon closing.
