New Update Enhances WebRTC Streaming and User Experience

New Features:

  • WebRTC-based streaming: Significant improvements for all streaming use cases.
  • Free-floating application: Users can move the application freely on their screens.

Enhancements:

  • Improved reconnection logic: Automated 20-second countdown for reconnection attempts in lost connection cases.
  • UI improvements: New TV screens for reconnection and content prompts.
  • Scaled-down manual mode: Fewer options available to ensure WebRTC compatibility.
  • Removed audio buffer: No longer adds a 1-second buffer when streaming video with sound.

Fixed Bugs:

  • Chromebook app: Now streams correctly if the previous session was interrupted by closing the lid.
  • Recurring screen sharing sessions: Initiate without issues.
  • Distorted audio issues: Resolved interruptions during streams.
  • Saving logs window: No longer partially hidden when opened.

Update Instructions:

  • WebRTC-based streaming requires version 4.4.0 firmware or higher installed on Airtame 2 devices.
  • The legacy version (4.2.1-cros) is available on the Chrome Web Store for streaming to Airtame 1 devices. Read more here.
The manufacturer Airtame has not yet set up its devicebase profile. Content such as updates, compatibilities and support may only be maintained with a delay.
