How to Manage Camera Access on Your Mac

1- Open System Settings:

• Go to the Apple menu and select System Settings.
• In the sidebar, click on Privacy & Security (you might need to scroll down to find it).

2- Access Camera Settings:

• On the right, click Camera.
• If you don’t see the Camera option, you may need to upgrade to macOS Mojave or a later version.

3- Toggle Camera Access:

• You can turn camera access on or off for each app listed.
• The list displays apps you’ve installed that have requested camera access.
• If no apps are listed, it means you haven’t installed any apps that use the camera. Apps like FaceTime and Photo Booth, which come pre-installed on your Mac, automatically have camera access without needing your permission.

4- Note on Camera Usage:

• The camera will automatically turn on when you open an app that uses it. A green light next to the camera will indicate it’s on. The camera and the green light will turn off when you close or quit all apps that use the camera.

5- Safari Camera Settings:

• In Safari , to allow a website to use the camera, go to Safari> Settings, click on Websites, and then select Camera.
