Details
It was discovered that GDK-PixBuf incorrectly handled certain JPEG files.
An attacker could use this issue to cause GDK-PixBuf to crash, resulting in
a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code.

Update instructions
In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions:

  • 25.10 questing libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0 – 2.42.12+dfsg-5ubuntu0.1
  • 24.04 LTS noble libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0 – 2.42.10+dfsg-3ubuntu3.3
  • 22.04 LTS jammy libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0 – 2.42.8+dfsg-1ubuntu0.5
The manufacturer Canonical has not yet set up its devicebase profile. Content such as updates, compatibilities and support may only be maintained with a delay.
