Day 0 Startup Enhancements and Critical Bug Fixes Released

New Features:

  • Day 0 Startup enables Type-6 passwords (Master-Key) in addition to Type-7 passwords.
  • Secure Data Wipe initiative compliant with NIST SP800-88r1 securely erases sensitive data.

Enhancements:

  • The CLI Setup now allows setting the password encryption level for enhanced security.

Fixed Bugs:

  • CSCwb68465 - IE3x00: MRP IP connectivity issue resolved.
  • CSCwc07172 - Fixed issue where enabling IOx or CyberVision caused soft reloads to hang.
  • CSCwc52194 - DHCP Discovery packets no longer dropped by ESS-3300-CON when IPv6 DHCP guard is enabled.
  • CSCwc58174 - Resolved loop triggered by incorrect Portchannel member usage.
  • CSCwc72101 - Fixed OSPFv3 neighbor getting stuck at EXSTART on IE3400.
  • CSCwd02557 - Removed topology error when IE3x00 is without expansion module.
  • CSCwd14921 - Now accepts LLDP packets from Lenze and SEW devices without rejection.
  • CSCwd49796 - Fixed issue where Express setup physical press did not work on IE3400H.

Open Issues:

  • CSCwd19424 - PTPv1 not functioning on Tengig ports when forward-mode is enabled on IE3x00.
  • CSCwd40311 - "Logging buffered max" returns no memory available.
  • CSCwd41453 - Ingress feature on SPAN destination port stops working when port is bounced.

Update Instructions:

  • Startup Config is always read from flash starting in Cisco IOS XE Release 17.10.1.
  • SMU Installation requires booting in install mode starting from Cisco IOS XE 17.9.1.
  • IE3400 Hardware Changes may necessitate a software upgrade based on your base switch and expansion module.
