The RWM 200 SW smoke alarm provides early warning of smoke or fire, allowing residents of the house or apartment to take prompt action, such as leaving the premises and calling the fire service. It does not prevent fires or automatically extinguish flames, nor does it notify the fire department or other emergency services. Smoke alarms are not utilized to prevent fire damage since they are ineffective, especially when no one is around.
