Control progression of presentation slides without needing to ask the pa

New and enhanced features

General features

  • Webinar Backstage
Zoom Room panelists can move between the backstage area, which is not visible or heard by attendees, and the live webinar area, which is visible to and heard by attendees. Zoom Room Panelists backstage can still view the live webinar to keep an eye on the presentation and know when to rejoin.
  • Presentation slide control
Control progression of presentation slides without needing to ask the participant sharing the presentation for the next slide. Supports presentations in Google Slides, Powerpoint, and Keynote. The account owner and admins can enable this for use at the Account, Group, and User-level web settings. A Zoom Room may only request slide control from another meeting participant performing screen sharing; it may not offer slide control to other participants when the Zoom Room is performing screen sharing.
  • Far end camera control notification enhancement
When a meeting participant requests far end camera control of a Zoom Room camera that does not support pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ) controls the following message will be displayed in the meeting participant’s client: "The selected camera does not support PTZ controls."
  • Support for Directional Audio in multi-display Zoom Rooms
Multi-display Zoom Rooms can use Directional Audio in Gallery or Immersive View.
  • Display Screen Sharing on a confidence monitor
Administrators can configure a confidence monitor to show shared meeting content or locally shared content.
  • Remove volume control in Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) mode
The non-functional volume control slider on the Zoom Rooms Controller will no longer appear on BYOD mode user interface.
  • Enhancements to the meetings list for Zoom Rooms not configured with calendar integration
Zoom Rooms without a calendar integration will now list Zoom meetings when the meeting host adds the Zoom Room as a meeting attendee.
  • Support for joining iMMR meetings
Zoom Rooms can join iMMR meetings if permitted by the meeting host’s account settings.
  • Official support for 21:9 aspect ratio displays
Zoom Rooms display logic has been enhanced to take advantage of the extra space provided by 21:9 aspect ratio displays. Please consult appliance vendor documentation to learn which vendors and models support 21:9 aspect ratio displays.
  • Support for Zoom Event transfer during session
An in session Zoom Event can be transferred from the client to a Zoom Room once the two applications have been paired.
  • Paired devices at session end
Zoom Desktop clients paired to Zoom Rooms will be given the option to remain paired after meetings, webinars or events end. If the user does not choose to remain paired after the countdown, the room and the client will no longer be paired.
  • Arrange displays for Confidence Monitor
Users will see which display is designated as the main display when configuring the Confidence Monitor.

In-meeting features

  • Companion mode users and Gallery View
Users in companion mode will be displayed in the participant list nested under the room they are in, but not in gallery view.
  • Use Cameras at 4K resolution for Smart Gallery & Intelligent Director in-room participant cropping
Zoom Rooms will use the full resolution of 4K-capable cameras to perform higher quality cropping of distant participants to maintain a higher level of image quality. Consult Getting started with Intelligent Director for updated minimum system requirements when using cameras at 4K resolution.
  • Dynamic layout
Dynamic layout is a completely new option for single display Zoom Rooms. The new layout actively adapts to the meeting and who is speaking so that more active participants are prominently displayed and in-room users can see them better. This layout can be toggled in-meeting or set as the default by an administrator.
  • Enhancement to in-meeting chat
Zoom Rooms users can view images posted in the in-meeting chat.
  • Content only view for Webinars and Events
If the host’s and all panelists' videos are turned off, their profile pictures will not be displayed when content sharing is active in Webinars or Events.
  • Boundary Framing for Smart Gallery and Autoframing camera modes
Administrators can set a boundary for the detection area of Smart Gallery and Autoframing. When the boundary is set, Smart Gallery and Autoframing will only apply to participants who are inside the boundary area.

Management features

  • Support for fixed grid size in Gallery View
Administrators can configure a Gallery View fixed grid size that will not change when meeting participants join or leave a Zoom meeting.
  • Separate settings for incoming meeting join request and far end camera control
Automatically accept incoming meeting join request and Automatically accept far end camera control have been separated into distinct settings that can be configured individually.
  • Hide incoming calls during meeting
Administrators can enable the Hide incoming calls while in a meeting setting to prevent incoming meeting requests or phone calls from interrupting a Zoom Room during a meeting or webinar in progress.
  • Alert notifications on-screen display behavior
On-screen notifications for High CPU usage and Low bandwidth can be disabled. The notification will still be delivered via email or webhook.
  • Meeting participant report enhancement
Zoom Rooms using Smart Gallery, multi-camera, Intelligent director and Companion Whiteboard/Zoom Room will be listed as one participant on the meeting participant report on the Dashboard.
  • Account level volume control
Administrators can set a default volume for all Zoom Room speakers at the Account, Location and individual Zoom Room levels, and can lock the setting. This allows admins to set a default speaker volume for multiple Zoom Rooms at once.
  • Display user-defined camera names in Multi-Camera mode Streams
Administrators can set a custom camera name and have that name reflected in the video tile when Multi-Camera mode is in use.
  • Enhancement to reboot behavior on Zoom Room Controllers
Administrators have two options when initiating a reboot from a Zoom Room controller: reboot the controller they are currently using, or reboot all the room's display(s), controller(s) and scheduling display(s) at once.
  • Enhancement to home screen icon behavior
Administrators can control the order of icons shown on the home screen of controllers and touch displays.
  • Control the display of elements of the top banner
Administrators can control the display of all elements of the top banner shown while the room is idle. This includes Room Name, Clock, Sharing Key and the shaded area that is a background to these items.
  • Check-in for workspaces and Zoom Rooms
Check-in settings for workspaces and Zoom Rooms can be configured separately.
  • Optimize Full-screen Video Sharing by default
Administrators can enable Full-screen Video Sharing by default for their Zoom Rooms.
  • Enhanced control of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) mode availability
Administrators can enable and disable the BYOD feature from the Zoom web portal.
  • Display content on second or third display with Zoom Rooms for Touch
Administrators can configure the default content sharing behavior in Zoom Rooms for Touch rooms with multiple displays. The shared content can be configured to be shown on the second or third display, rather than the main display.

Zoom for Home features

  • Optimized display of private meetings on Personal Zoom Rooms
When a user is attending a scheduled meeting that has been set to private on another device, the Personal Zoom Room meeting transfer option will no longer display the meeting title.
