Gocator Software Update: New Features and Bug Fixes

New Features:

• Surface Blob: Tilt in the input surface can now be handled via a Feature Plane input as a reference plane, from which the threshold is applied.
• Surface Blob: The new Hierarchy parameter allows excluding holes from the results; this is now the default.
• Plane-to-Plane Angle measurement: The Feature Intersect tool now allows measurement of the angle between two planes.

Enhancements:

• The web interface requires Chrome, Firefox, or the “new” Microsoft Edge (version 79 or later).
• IE 11 and the “old” Edge (version 44 or earlier) browser are supported only in a limited fashion (see known issues for details).
• New measurement tools and PROFINET are not available on G2300 A and B revisions.
• Gocator 1300 and 3100 series sensors are not supported.
• Gocator support (.gs) and recording files (.rec) from G2 sensors with 6.0 firmware cannot be loaded in a 5.3 and earlier emulator.

Fixed Bugs:

• Script output pinning: Resolved an issue where it was not possible to reliably pin a measurement output from the Script tool to the Displayed Outputs panel.
• IP address conflict: The discovery tool now correctly assigns an IP address to a sensor after an IP address conflict.
• Crash with output: Fixed a rare crash when switching a G2 sensor with Modbus or ASCII output enabled between Software and Time trigger.
• G3506 not accessible: Resolved the issue where a Gocator 3506 sensor was not visible on the network after repeated power cycling.

Open Issues:

• Several issues exist with Internet Explorer 11: Launching and using additional data viewers is very slow; large data usage may not be possible due to browser memory limitations.
• “Old” Edge Browser: Launching and using additional data viewers is very slow with Microsoft Edge version 44 or earlier.
• Translations incomplete: Not all English text is translated into every language.
• Surface Track: The Surface Track tool is not supported on the GoMax device.
• G3504 with Interreflection Material: The G3504 does not support the Interreflection Material setting at the full field of view due to memory limitations.
