Rally Bar setup using the diagrams in

kiessling-medientechnik
I wanted to apologize for the error in my previous question. I'd like to install the simplest setup as my client is not technically inclined. I think the is appropriate diagram is on Page 6 (Appliance Mode: Wired screen share (VC application dependent)).
Q1) What is "VC"?
Q2) If there is no hardwired internet, is the Cat cable in yellow on the left of the diagram necessary? How does the system receive Wi-Fi? Does the Tap have a Wi-Fi capability?
Q3) What is the box labelled USB A between the CAT from the power plug, and the USB-A2 input on the Rally Bar?
Q4) What are the pros and cons of Page 6 vs Page 7? I would think it is easier to plug the laptop into the Tap vs into the Rally Bar.
Q5) On Page 8, there is no hardwired connection from the laptop to the Tap/Rally Bar system. How does the system show up or is used by the laptop? i.e. How do you cast a screen to the Rally Bar?
Q6) Page 12 does not show any hardwired connection from the Tap IP to the Rally Bar and the yellow CAT from the Rally Bar is not connected to anything? How does this work?
Q7) Is there any documentation that explains the diagrams?

Hello mel-orecklin,

  • Q1: VC = video conferencing
  • Q2: WLAN is possible.
  • Q3: this is a USB-Cat converter. This converts the USB signal to an Ethernet / Cat / RJ45. This is a direct connection and has no internet connection and cannot be connected to a network switch.
  • Q4: On page 6, screen sharing is done via the Rally Bar (Mini) and on page 7, screen sharing is done via the TAP. Both variants require a license for the software on the Rally Bar. It is best to ask the IT admin.
  • Q5: On page 8 the wireless transmission of the VC software (Video Conferencing Software e.g. Teams) is used.
  • Q6: Illustrations seem to be missing on page 12. The Rally Bar is connected to the Internet, as is the TAP IP. TAP IP also has WLAN, so the yellow CAT cable is only connected to a PoE injector and thus supplied with power.
  • Q7: What are you still missing in the documentation? At the bottom left are the cable types. The installation type is described at the bottom right. Further functions can be found in the guide. The cabling diagram is only for correct connection so that nothing is mixed up.
