Teams is not yet fully supported by Safari, but you can use teams if you disable a security setting.
To use teams in the Safari browser, the following settings must be made:
1. go to Safari preferences
2. the Prevent cross-site tracking setting must be disabled.
3. the Safari Browser must be restarted.
4. now you can use Microsoft teams in Safari.
5. after using teams, the website tracking setting should be reset.
The desktop app is required for use / participation in a video conference / call.
Safari blocks third-party cookies for security reasons. This blocks logging in to Microsoft Online and prevents Microsoft Teams from opening.
To use Teams in Safari, go to Preferences > Privacy and uncheck the "Block cross-site tracking" box.
After restarting the browser, you can then use Teams from Safari.
As soon as Safari is fully supported for Teams, this detour will no longer be necessary - it's already on Microsoft's wish list.
