Is it possible to provide a guest access in Teams?

Will it be possible to provide guest access to people that aren't part of your organization? Like when you collaborate with a person or with groups outside your company and give them access to some files and conversations.

Answers

Guest access is possible in Microsoft Teams. Any external user outside your organization with a business or consumer email address can join in as guests. On default, Guest access is turned off and needs to be configured. Note that you need to be a Global Administrator/Teams Administrator to make changes. Refer to this detailed checklist to provide you better guidance in the activation and configuration of Guest access for MS Teams.

You can add external guests to teams by creating a guest account for them in the user management. For meetings you don't even need that, an invitation with a meeting link is enough. When the guest then logs in, he first lands in the waiting area, from which someone from the organization must let him in.
