Reset individual changes made by others in a table?

Hi Everyone, I have shared my Teams spreadsheet (Excel spreadsheet that can be uploaded to Teams/Sharepoint and edited by all users at the same time) with my team who are supposed to insert their data into the spreadsheet.

Unfortunately, there are always wrong entries from the users. I can see the changes (before after).

Is there any way I can undo this change with one click?

For example, if someone changed the content from cat to dog. That I just make one click and there it says cat again instead of dog.

In addition, I would be interested in whether I can prohibit certain users, for example, that you can delete rows, etc. or only work on certain spreadsheets.

Thanks a lot

Top answer

Yes, in Teams you can undo changes to a table. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. open the table in Teams and click History in the menu bar at the top.
  2. select the cell or row you want to undo.
  3. click Restore Version and select the version that contains the content you want to restore.
  4. confirm your selection and the cell or row will be restored to the previous content.

Regarding your second question, yes, you can assign specific permissions to users in the table. For example, you can specify who can edit the table, add or delete rows and columns, or edit only certain cells. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. open the table in Teams and click Data in the menu bar at the top.
  2. select Permissions from the drop-down menu.
Select the users for whom you want to set permissions. 4.
  3. click Change Permissions and select the permissions you want.
  4. save your changes.

Note: To set permissions, you must have administrator rights for the team or group to which the table belongs.
