Is there an SMB connection issue with a Synology server?

Hello,

I am experiencing difficulties connecting a Samsung Flip 4 Pro display to a Synology NAS over the local network using the SMB protocol.

Details of the issue:
• The display cannot access shared folders on the Synology NAS.
• Attempts to connect using the NAS IP address or hostname have failed.
• Connection using the SMB standard path with the NAS name and shared folder (e.g., \\\\NAS-NAME\\SharedFolder) does not work.
• Tried specifying port 445 explicitly, but this is not supported.
• Attempts using SMB URL format (e.g., smb://IP/SharedFolder) also fail.
• The Samsung Flip 4 Pro seems unable to establish a stable SMB connection to the NAS.

Could you please advise on any compatibility issues or specific configuration steps required to connect the Samsung Flip 4 Pro to a Synology NAS via SMB?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Answers

Hello,

It is working fine for us using this format:
//IP/SharedFolder

It might also be worth checking the minimum SMB protocol settings on the NAS (File Services/SMB/Advanced Settings).
