How do I update the firmware on my Stem devices?

Answer

There are essentially 3 ways to update your Stem devices (2 require the internet, 1 does not):

(INTERNET NOT REQUIRED) Updates can be pushed to multiple devices simultaneously via the Stem Upgrader (requires Windows 10 or higher). If the firmware has been downloaded locally to the computer running the Upgrader app, this process can be performed and completed completely offline. For firmware files, please contact us.
2 (INTERNET REQUIRED) If your device is running at least version 1.4.0 and has internet access, it will attempt to receive a firmware update every night at midnight. If a newer version of the firmware is available, the device will be updated automatically.
(INTERNET REQUIRED) Log into the IP address of the device (via any web browser) and go into the device settings of the device you wish to update. To access this feature, go to Ecosystem > Devices > Desired Device > Advanced > Device Firmware Updates > CHECK FOR UPDATES.
To update all your devices at once, follow the process described above at the organization level. To access this feature, go to Ecosystem > Settings > Device Firmware Updates > CHECK FOR UPDATES.
