Is there a way to make my microphone focus only on my voice?

I live in a noisy neighborhood, an environment with lots of people and pets. I now use noise-canceling headphones on my laptop, but it seems it doesn't help either because I tested it out and colleagues would say that they can still hear everything including the background audio from me when we're on a Zoom. Is there anything that could be done to cancel out noise or just at least minimize it?

Hello there! Zoom features a software-level background noise suppression that might help to further remove background noise. You will find the option on the Zoom client.

To access background noise suppression settings:

  1. Open the Zoom client
  2. Choose Settings (Gear icon)
  3. Click on the Audio tab
  4. Under the Suppress background noise section, you can the suppression level of your choice (Auto, Low, Medium, or High) with High as the most aggressive in canceling background noise.

Note: This feature is only available on Zoom desktop client version 5.2.0 or higher (Windows/macOS)
