Share video on MacOS?

Hello all,

I have the following problem on macOS since the new version 5.5.2:

I want to share a video via screen sharing and I have already started and paused the video in a media player. so I click on screen sharing, select the video window and activate the two checkmarks for "Transfer sound" and "Optimize for video" at the bottom. Then I launch the share and start the video. The audio transfers properly, but the picture is frozen. If I uncheck "Optimize for video", everything is transferred, but the picture is of course very choppy and not really smooth. That's exactly what this check mark is for.

My system is a MacMini with M1 processor (OS: Big Sur 11.2.1.) I tried it under both installations (optimized for M1 and optimized for Intel). Both times the same result.

I also cross-checked it on my old MacBook Pro from 2015 (also Big Sur 11.2.1). There, the option "Optimize for video" is since this zoom version removed and not selectable. Nevertheless, the video runs quite smoothly.

Have you experienced any assistance or similar on this with you?

Many greetings

Michael

One possible solution is to use the "Share computer sound"option in Zoom instead of screen sharing. This will allow you to share the sound and video together and you should not have any problems with frozen images.

Another possible solution is to use a different program for video playback that may work better with the Zoom video optimization option.
